South Bruce Grey Health Centre launching Patient and Family Advisory Council

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre is launching a Patient and Family Advisory Council this fall to engage the community in improving patient care experiences.

The council will form a partnership between community members and hospital staff to focus on the delivery of patient- and family-centred care, an approach to health care delivery that recognizes the integral role of patients and families as part of the health care team.

"Our patients and their family members can contribute a great deal of input on how care is delivered at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre," says Paul Rosebush, president and chief executive officer. "We are very excited about this initiative and what we will learn from it."

The health centre is seeking community advisors who have had a recent experience as a patient or family member (within three years) at one of the organization's four hospital sites (Kincardine, Walkerton, Chesley, Durham).
