Good crowd for Kincardine Legion craft show and bake sale

A good crowd turned out for the 36th annual Kincardine Legion craft show and bake sale, held Saturday in the Legion Hall.

Twenty-three vendors displayed a variety of items, including handmade jewellery and Christmas ornaments, bird feeders, wooden cutting boards, knitted hedgehogs, and more. The event also featured a bake table, and lunch.

Organizer Diane Picot said the number of vendors is about the same as last year. Her mother, Blanche, started the craft show in 1980.

In addition, raffle tickets are being sold as a fund-raiser for the new Legion hall furnace project. This was prompted by concerns that the Legion is facing electricity bills of about $4,300 per month.

Raffle tickets are $20 each, with a limited number bein sold. The grand prize is a VIA Rail round trip for two to Halifax, Nova Scotia, via Montreal, including all sleeping accommodations and meals on board. The rail trip tickets are good until Dec. 19, 2017.
