Warm, windy night for Hometown Christmas in downtown Kincardine

A great crowd flooded downtown Kincardine, Friday night, enjoying the warm, windy weather and the activities of Hometown Christmas, the official kick-off to the holiday shopping season.

There was a long line-up to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and another lengthy line-up to go for a horse-drawn wagon ride.

The event also featured a sleigh and reindeer, a Live Nativity Scene and petting zoo, and the Kincardine Community Singers with their joyous carolling up and down Queen Street.

Other groups and organizations were also set up downtown, selling their wares. The Kinetic Knights Robotics Team 781 had a bake table, welcoming customers to purchase some sweets. And Jacqueline Ozorio and Emily Rogers of Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton were selling cookie and treats as a fund-raiser for the school's Mission Trip to Nicaragua next year.

Most of the downtown stores were open late and shoppers were taking advantage of discounts and sales as part of Hometown Christmas.
