Kincardine's 10% tax hike seems high, says reader

RE: "Kincardine facing 10% tax-rate hike in 2017 to maintain services"

A 10-per-cent tax hike seems high. Obviously it's way beyond inflation.

Are we paying for sins of the past? Failure to maintain infrastructure? Poor decisions regarding Bruce Telecom?

What about $2.2-million for the airport? What does that cover, is it essential, why, how many people does it benefit? Same for the $150,000 for the tennis court.

From the report, the council did not raise much concern about a tax rise of 10 per cent. I expected more/some opponents or at least hard questions.
