Kincardine Bantams end Silver Stick as championship finalists
The Kincardine Bantam Kinucks made it to the championship final at the Kincardine Regional Silver Stick tournament, but lost to Twin Centres, 5-1, to end the week-long event as finalists.

In front of a good crowd at the Davidson Centre Friday night, the Bantams came out determined, but Twin Centres opened the scoring late in the first period, to take a 1-0 lead.

Liam Colhoun of the Kinucks tied it up early in the second, assisted by Wilson Shipp and Jordan Beisel. Minutes later, Twin Centres scored to make it a 2-1 game.

Despite putting the pressure on, the Kinucks could not beat the Twin Centres goalie, as the visitors went on to score three more goals in the third, including an empty-netter at the end. The final frame was a penalty-ridden affair, with plenty of space on the ice and numerous players in the box.

Tournament director Tia Trudeau presented the finalist medals to the Kincardine team, and the championship medals, banner and trophy to the Twin Centres team. Liam Colhoun of the Kinucks was named player of the game.

Twin Centres now goes on to play in the International Silver Stick finals Jan. 20-22 in Forest, Ontario.
