PRWIN offering free tree seedlings and spring planting

The Pine River Watershed Initiative Network (PRWIN) is offering free tree seedlings, and spring planting, to property owners in the watershed.

Office administrator Penny Faragher Robertson says any landowners who need a shelter belt or wind break, or have property that would benefit from reforestation, should contact PRWIN and obtain these free seedlings.

"Every year, PRWIN orders a variety of softwood and hardwood tree seedlings to plant within the area," she says. "You can have free tree seedlings just by contacting us with your desired seedling species and quantity required. We can also arrange the planting of the tree seedlings for you when they arrive in early spring.

Interested property owners can drop into the PRWIN office, at 86 Huron Street, Ripley, by Feb. 15, to order these free tree seedlings; or call 519-395-5538.
