Tiverton news

Well what happened to the “bad winter” we were supposed to get? Is it on its way or did it go south with all the snowbirds? I’m watching for my crocuses to pop up through the dirt and I’m told that people with fish ponds are still watching their fish swim around. People are still playing golf. Whatever happened to winter, it sure is nice not to be shovelling snow, but it's not nice having to worry about basements flooding and streams overflowing. Let’s enjoy the warmth while we can because you can be sure that the typical cold, snowy Bruce County winter weather will be back before long!

Maybe it’s time for a flashing Stop sign at the intersection of Highway 21 and Bruce County Road 15. Once again, the corner was missed and a vehicle ended up in the old Daisy Mart parking lot after taking out the big sign, half the retaining wall and the garden.

MANOR MUSINGS

There is an old saying, “You will never stop learning new things, no matter how old you are.” This definitely applies to Joyce Van Dam (right) of Tiverton Park Manor. At the young age of 98, she does puzzles of all kinds but one of her most recent accomplishments is a 3D puzzle of Camelot. I have tried these and get so frustrated, I have given up. Great job, young lady! You are an inspiration to us all!
