Kincardine man wins Rotary VIA Rail raffle, with proceeds to Legion

Robert Wright of Kincardine was the lucky winner of the VIA Rail return trip for two, from Toronto to Halifax, Nova Scotia, by way of Montreal, a raffle sponsored by the Kincardine Rotary Club in support of the Kincardine Legion's new furnace fund.

The draw was made New Year's Eve, and Wright picked up his prize at the Legion, Sunday afternoon. The trip includes sleeping accommodations and meals on board, for a total value of $3,304.12; and the tickets are good until Dec. 19, 2017.

Tickets were $20 each, held under Lottery Licence No. M756537.

The raffle raised $14,250 which the Rotary Club presented to the Legion, Sunday afternoon. The money will go toward the Legion's $40,000 furnace fund.
