Pay it Forward! We’ve all heart that term but what does it mean? Last Wednesday morning, I was going through the McDonald's drive-thru to get a coffee. While I was waiting in line, a lady came out of the restaurant and walked in front of my car to go to the drive-thru cashier. Of course, I was a little miffed as to why she was doing this. When it was my turn to pay, the cashier told me the lady had paid for it. I have no idea who this lady is but I want to thank her.

The “Pay it Forward rules” are that you pay for the person behind you. But as it turned out, there was no one behind me. The next time I’m at a drive-thru, I will pay for whoever is behind me, provided it’s not a meal for a family of six! We all need to take the initiative and do a good deed. Next time you’re going through a drive-thru, ask the cashier how much the person behind you owes and either pay for it or chip in. To the lady who paid for my coffee, thank you and I owe you one next time you’re in line!

TIVERTON WINTERFEST
 
It’s that time of year again for the Tiverton Winterfest, Saturday to Sunday, Feb. 4-5. Every year, we celebrate this event with the support or our local clubs, churches and partners. There are lots of events lined up, including a pancake breakfast, story time, snow sculptures, sleigh rides, euchre party, chili lunch, skating and ending with good old fiddle and folk songs.

The festivities begin Saturday at 7 a.m., and continue into Sunday. Come and enjoy the activities planned for this year! If you’re interested in making Winterfest 2018 even better, contact the organizers at 519-396-3491.

TIVERTON AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY

The agricultural society thanks the outgoing executive for a job well done, and welcomes the 2017 executive. Also, thanks to all the members who showed up for the annual meeting and showed interest in helping out in anyway they can.
