A snowstorm in 1947 stopped the train in Huron Township - the good old days
To the Editor:
I found the following pictures as I was archiving some old photos.
The winter of 1947 brought a snowstorm that stopped the train in Huron Township.
Local farmers had to dig down to the track and free the train. Many locomotives were needed to supply the power necessary to get the train moving and the tracks clear again.
”The good old days!”
