Bluewater board's education director takes position at Simcoe board

The Bluewater District School Board has announced, with regret, the resignation of education director Steve Blake, effective March 20. Blake has accepted the position of education director at the Simcoe County District School Board.

“It is with mixed emotions that we accept Steve (Blake)’s resignation," said Bluewater board chairman Ron Motz. "We are very thankful for his strong leadership and continued commitment working with the board of trustees to create a more sustainable path forward in Bluewater for the benefit of all our students. While we are sad to see him leave, we extend our congratulations and wish him every success as he pursues an exciting new phase in his career.”

“I am very thankful for the experience of being Bluewater’s director of education," said Blake. "The board has worked extremely hard, tackling some difficult challenges in order to direct as much money as possible into exemplary programming for students. I am proud to have served a school board that cares so deeply about the success of its students.”

The board will provide information in regard to a new education director when details become available.
