Driver charged in head-on collision near Mildmay

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - Feb. 14, at about 4:45 p.m., the South Bruce OPP, along with Bruce County Emergency Services and the Mildmay Fire Department, responded to a head-on collision involving a 2006 Dodge Ram pick-up truck and a 2010 Mazda Tribute, on Bruce County Road 3, north of Mildmay, in the Municipality of South Bruce.

Investigation revealed the Mazda was travelling northbound on County Road 3, when it crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the southbound pick-up truck. Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles and transported to hospital.

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 27-year-old Saugeen Shores man, sustained minor injuries.
 
The driver of the Mazda sustained major injuries.  A 65-year-old South Bruce woman was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
