Bowl for Kids' Sake raises $24,499 for Kincardine Big Brothers and Big Sisters
Thirty teams took part in the 31st annual Bowl for Kids' Sake on the weekend, raising $24,499 for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kincardine and District. That's down from last year's 30th anniversary event which raised $30,000.
The event began Saturday afternoon and continued Sunday at Bruce Bowling Lanes. Young and old enjoyed the bowling, as well as snacks, raffles, and the rocking tunes of Ryan "The Buzzman" Berry.
The Society of Energy Professionals was on hand to present a donation of $5,000.
The highest pledge-earners were Vickie Cahill, with $1,045 for Saturday; and Murray Clarke, with $780 for Sunday.
Big Brothers and Big Sisters has been serving the community’s youth since 1984, and continues to thrive in the Kincardine area, serving Little Brothers and Little Sisters, aged six to 16. The mentoring program involves skills in independence, friendship, social and group settings.
