Kincardine hospital auxiliary Art/Easel Program fund-raiser a great success

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine hospital auxiliary's Art/Easel Program fund-raiser has been a great success.

The auxiliary has received its first cheque for $4,251.45 from the Funding Innovation Program, after partnering with this unique fund-raiser in June, 2016.

The program has done very well in the area, with prints varying from sports and landscapes of famed artists to musical tributes. The framed prints change every two to three weeks and have been on display at the Kincardine hospital, Sobeys, Best Western Plus Governor's Inn, the Hawthorne Community Clinic, and Boston Pizza.

Appreciation goes to these outlets for allowing the auxiliary to display the artwork, and a heartfelt thanks to the generous community for supporting this fund-raiser. The money raised will go toward purchasing much-needed new equipment for the Kincardine hospital.

The next print at the Kincardine hospital is entitled “Jack Pine” by Tom Thomson (above, with Bill Watson, left, area manager for Funding Innovation, who is presenting the cheque for $4,251.45 to hospital auxiliary president Carol Collins). This is a classic painting and the most popular picture by the famous northern Ontario artist. This print (at right and below) is also on display at Sobeys.

The print at the Hawthorne Community Clinic is entitled “Tragically Hip.”

The print at the Best Western is entitled “Savvy Lab.”

The print at Boston Pizza is entitled “Bob Marley Acoustic.”

The starting bid for each print is $200, and they are on display until Monday, March 27.
