Kincardine ratepayers spend more than $300,000 in remuneration on council, boards in 2016

Kincardine ratepayers spent more than $300,000 in remuneration on their council, local boards and the Bruce Telecom board, last year.
 
The amount paid to council members in 2016 decreased slightly, to $231,484.12 from $233,797.41 in 2015, while the amount paid to the Bruce Telecom board increased, to $54,849.89 from $48,599.58 in 2015.
 
The treasurer's statement of remuneration was approved as part of the consent agenda, March 15.
 
Mayor Anne Eadie received a total of $43,598.71 including $30,930.30 in salary, $1,780 in per diem, and $10,888.41 for expenses; plus $2,500 for serving on the Bruce Telecom board.
 
Deputy mayor Jacqueline Faubert was paid $23,253.34, including $22,417.39 in salary, $320 for per diem, and $515.95 for expenses.
 
Councillor Gordon Campbell was paid $18,445.26, including $18,160.94 in salary, and $284.32 for expenses.
 
Councillor Maureen Couture received $23,880.92, including $18,160.94 in salary, $3,030 in per diem, and $2,689.98 for expenses; plus a total of $1,291.80 for serving on the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, including $975 in per diem and $316.80 for expenses.
 
Councillor Laura Haight received $21,850.24, including $$18,160.94 in salary, $1,770 in per diem, and $1,919.30 for expenses; plus $3,622.45 for serving on the police services board, including $1,823.88 in salary, and $1,798.57 in expenses.
 
Councillor Mike Leggett was paid $24,217.01, including $18,160.94 in salary, and $6,056.07 for expenses.
 
Councillor Linda McKee received $27,224.95, including $18,160.94 in salary, $1,000 in per diem, and $8,064.01 for expenses.
 
Councillor Randy Roppel was paid $20,974.46, including $18,160.94 in salary, $600 in per diem, and $2,213.52 for expenses.
 
Councillor Andrew White received $28,039.23, including $18,160.94 in salary, $1,010 in per diem, and $8,868.29 for expenses; plus for serving on the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, a total of $714, including $525 in per diem and $189 for expenses.
 
The following were paid for serving on the Bruce Telecom board:
 

• Tom Cole – a total of $9,230.88 in salary.
• Holly Robinson - a total of $13,239.66, including $12,000.04 in salary, $500 in per diem, and $739.62 for expenses
• Ron Larsen – a total of $9,522.86, including $9,230.88 in salary, and $291.98 in expenses
• Peter Risteen – a total of $9,743.09, including $9,230.88 in salary, and $512.21 in expenses
• Tom Scott - a total of $10,613.40., including $10,000.12 in salary, and $613.28 for expenses

For serving on the police services board:
 

• Robert Hiscox - $1,823.92 in salary
• Ron Roppel - $1,823.92 in salary

For serving on the Westario Power board:
 

• Randy Hughes - a total of $10,850.82, including $10,294.35 in salary, and $556.47 for expenses

The total amount of remuneration for 2016, was $306,460.92.
