Kincardine Community Singers planning summer birthday extravaganza
Once again, the Kincardine Community Singers are making history as they plan to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday and the 40th anniversary birthday of the choir, with a unique series of concerts at the Kincardine Pavilion.
The choir has grown to 100 members and will present three concerts instead of the usual two.
“Every piece of music in the program will have a Canadian connection,” says choir director Patt Lowry.
The choir selected the Pavilion as a venue because of its history, and because it is an ideal location for special summer concerts. To add to the birthday party atmosphere, the Pavilion is licensed so guests can enjoy their favourite beverage before the concert or at intermission.
The concerts will take place Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, June 11, at 3 p.m. Pre-concert entertainment and a social time will begin an hour before each concert.
