Injured Bruce Power worker released from hospital
A Bruce Power worker, injured Sunday at the Bruce Nuclear site, has been released from hospital and is currently resting at home.
John Peevers, communications and media relations manager, said the employee, working on an electrical maintenance activity as part of the Unit 5 outage on the non-nuclear side of the plant, received an electrical contact.
The worker was transported to an off-site medical facility and treated for injuries, said Peevers, adding that throughout the response, the worker's condition remained stable.
"The investigation continues in order to obtain all the relevant facts with a focus on prevention and continuous improvement based on this experience," Peevers said Wednesday (March 29). "We have resumed electrical work on site; however, a number of interim safety enhancements have been put in place until the results of the investigation are known."
