Huron Heights Public School student wins Bruce Power Holiday Art contest

December 16, 2014

Louisa Matheson, a Grade 6 student at Huron Heights Public School, Kincardine, has won the Bruce Power Holiday Art contest.
Louisa’s artwork for this year’s Holiday Card was selected from amongst 110 entries submitted by Grades 5 and 6 students in the Bluewater District and Bruce-Grey Catholic District school boards.
A natural artist who likes to draw for fun, Louisa created her winning submission in just two days. As a tribute from Bruce Power, Louisa was presented with a personal art kit and her original artwork was framed and mounted with the finished Holiday Card.  To help celebrate, her class received a pizza party and $500 for art supplies.
Another Huron Heights student, Makayla Roberts, won second prize in the Bruce Power contest for her holiday art.  Makayla also received an art kit and $300 for art supplies for Huron Heights.
Their teachers, Tanya Leppington, Carole Ann MacDonald and Miranda Lytle are very proud of their efforts!
