MISTRAS Group Inc. setting up shop in Kincardine

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is establishing an office in Kincardine in an effort to create local jobs and support the community’s industrial economy.

The company is a leading global one-source provider of asset protection solutions, used to evaluate the structural integrity of critical energy, industrial, and public infrastructure. It operates in a variety of industries, including the oil and gas, power generation, aerospace, civil infrastructure, and industrial sectors.

Kincardine is a prime location for expansion for MISTRAS, with the Bruce Power site, Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Siemens, Enbridge, Pattern Energy, and several other players in the industrial world, operating locally. Worldwide, MISTRAS is heavily involved in the nuclear power industry, and is fully-equipped with resources and subject matter experts to support any nuclear facility.

The office, which officially opens its doors in early May, is located in the Kincardine Municipal Administrative Centre on the 5th Concession It is MISTRAS’ third office in Ontario, including locations in Oakville and Burlington, further strengthening its local presence. In total, MISTRAS has more than 120 locations throughout the world, supporting each of its local labs with a global resource and knowledge network.

MISTRAS' range of asset inspection solutions spans inspection, engineering, maintenance, and condition-monitoring services, along with designing and manufacturing nondestructive testing inspection products and systems. Alongside traditional asset protection work, the company offers a range of value-added solutions in hazardous or otherwise hard-to-reach areas; for example, MISTRAS’ locations in Quebec serve as the company’s Centres of Excellence for Diving/Subsea Inspections and Fall Protection. MISTRAS also employs certified rope access technicians, who specialize in at-height inspection, rock stabilization, and maintenance.
