Health unit seeks owner of dog after woman bitten in Point Clark

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is seeking assistance from the public in finding the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred in the Point Clark area.

Thursday, April 27, at about 2 p.m., a woman was walking her dog near the intersection of the 2nd Concession and Victoria Road when she encountered another woman emerging from the beach access laneway also walking her dog. The dogs became engaged in an altercation and the woman was bitten while attempting to intervene.

The biting dog is described as large, gray/silver and possibly of the Weimaraner breed.

Staff of the health unit needs to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
