Kincardine house fire causes several hundred thousand dollars in property damage
A house fire on Reynolds Drive, Kincardine, Friday night, has resulted in several hundred thousand dollars in property damage.
Kincardine fire chief Kent Padfield reported that the blaze began shortly after 7:30 p.m. in the garage at 756 Reynolds Drive. Five fire trucks from both Kincardine and Tiverton stations attended the scene, as well as a Bruce County Paramedics, Westario Power and the South Bruce OPP.
Deputy chief Steve Otterman said the crews that arrived first on the scene found heavy fire conditions in the garage, and two cars on fire in the driveway. Heat from the fire was impacting neighbouring homes as well.
“Firefighters did a great job at bringing the fire under control quickly using master streams from the first-arriving pumper and the ladder truck," said Otterman.
The blaze caused significant damage to the house and vehicles as well as smoke and water damage to homes on either side.
All occupants of the house were able to get out safely, said Padfield, and there were no injuries reported.
Firefighters were on the scene for five hours. A cause has yet to be determined.
