Bruce Power bus tours expand to seven days a week this summer
Following another year of overwhelming success, Bruce Power will further expand its summer visitors’ centre hours and free bus tour program to meet public demand.

Through July and August, the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre will be open seven days per week, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and offer two site tours every day, at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., said Chris Mercanti, section manager, community and Indigenous relations.

“Our bus tour program, which started in 2014, has seen a steady increase in visitors year-over-year,” Mercanti said. “In 2016, more than 3,300 people took a one-hour, narrated bus tour. So, moving to seven days a week to provide greater service was the logical next step. We’re flattered, but not surprised, by the high level of interest locals and visitors from across Ontario, Canada and the globe, have in the world’s largest operating nuclear facility.”

To reserve a spot on a bus tour, visit www.brucepower.com/visit-us and click the link to access the third-party booking system. One person can reserve up to 10 spots. Select your date and time, number of guests and the required information for each visitor, including participants’ first and last name, age and home address.

Visitors over the age of 18 require government-issued photo identification, while those under age 18 without photo ID must be accompanied by an adult who can vouch for their identity.

The visitors’ centre will be closed and the bus tours will not operate on statutory holidays in July and August.

Bruce Power will also be taking part in the Bruce County Doors Open program, which runs Saturday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, June 11, from Noon to 4 p.m. This program is part of the Canada 150 celebrations, and informative and interactive videos and exhibits, as well as bus tours at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. each day, will be available to the public during the event. Pre-registration is recommended for the Doors Open bus tours, as well.

Visit www.brucepower.com/visit-us for more information and to register.
