The mayor then put on her poet's hat and paid tribute to Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate. In 2012, she survived a shooting by the Taliban and continues to bravely fight for girls to have an education in Pakistan. She is now an honourary Canadian citizen.
In response to the recent poetry challenge, Eadie read, "The Road Not Taken," by Robert Frost.
