Hambleton appointed superintendent of education
Following an in-depth hiring process, the Bluewater District School Board is pleased to announce that
Paul Hambleton (above) has been appointed to the position of superintendent of education, effective May 17.
He was named interim superintendent of education in March after Alana Murray became education director.
Hambleton has more than 30 years of experience in education, serving as a teacher, vice-principal and principal in a variety of Bluewater schools. In recent years, his work at the system level has involved a wide range of diverse portfolios, such as early years, curriculum K-12, safe and accepting schools, indigenous education, and new teacher development.
“We appreciate the expertise and level of commitment that Paul (Hambleton) has brought to our senior leadership team over the past few months," said Murray. "It is a pleasure to welcome him permanently as he assumes the role of superintendent of education.”
Now appointed to this position, Hambleton's responsibilities will include an area of schools, in addition to a portfolio comprised of a number of system responsibilities.
