Kincardine Community Singers Sunday afternoon concert already sold-out
If you're planning to attend the Kincardine Community Singers concert next month, you better get some tickets.

The choir's Sunday afternoon (June 11) concert is already sold-out, leaving only the evening concerts, Friday and Saturday, June 9 and 10, with tickets available.

Treasurer Paul Rigby said the choir has had sold-out shows before but never this far in advance. "The idea of moving it to the Pavilion, plus our special Canada 150 concerts, have generated a lot of interest."

Once again, the singers are making history as they celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday and the 40th anniversary of the choir, with this unique series of concerts. The choir has grown to 100 members and will present three concerts instead of the usual two.

“Every piece of music in the program will have a Canadian connection,” says choir director Patt Lowry.

Accompanist is Brenda Manderson, along with several local musicians, and the MC is Jo-Ellen Abercrombie.

The choir selected the Pavilion as a venue because of its history, and because it is an ideal location for special summer concerts. To add to the birthday party atmosphere, the Pavilion is licensed so guests can enjoy their favourite beverage before the concert or at intermission.

The concerts will take place Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, June 11, at 3 p.m. Pre-concert entertainment and a social time will begin an hour before each concert.

Admission is $20, and $5 for children under the age of 12. Tickets are available at Jerome Flowers and Gifts in downtown Kincardine, and on-line at kincardinecommunitysingers.ca.
