Kincardine hospital auxiliary sells 2,200 geraniums at annual fund-raiser
The south side of Victoria Park, Kincardine, was blooming with geraniums, Thursday afternoon, May 18, as the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine hospital auxiliary distributed the 2,200 geraniums that had been pre-ordered.
The geranium sale is a major fund-raiser for the auxiliary and was a great success, as the flowers were sold-out again.
While the colour choices were red, white, light salmon and hot pink, because this is Canada's 150th birthday, red and white were the most popular selections, said organizer Nicole Whitwell. The auxiliary sold a total of 2,207 plants, with the money going toward the purchase of hospital equipment for the Kincardine hospital.
"Many thanks to our members, husbands, and volunteers and our customers who helped make this fund-raiser such a success," said Whitwell.
The geraniums were grown locally and supplied by Quinn Florist.
