Clint Parker Memorial Ride raises $1,100 for bursary, charity
The third annual Clint Parker Memorial Ride has raised a total of $1,118.15 for a bursary and charity.
Held Saturday, May 6, beginning just east of Highway 21 on the 9th Concession of the Municipality of Kincardine, the event saw 30 vehicles involved in the ride to the location south of Port Elgin where 18-year-old Parker was killed in February, 2015.
Prior to the ride, the crowd enjoyed a barbecue, and purchased 50-50 tickets and 519Country swag, in support of the cause.
There was also a presentation by Donna Coughlan of Allies for Alley Catz, emphasizing the need for a Trap, Neuter and Release (TNR) program in the Kincardine area in order to control the stray cat population.
Of the total funds raised at the ride, $500 goes toward the bursary, presented at Kincardine District Secondary School commencement, a portion goes to Allies for Alley Catz and a portion goes toward a Concussion Clinic that is still being developed.
