Welding students complete testing thanks to donation from PWU, 7 Acres
Fanshawe College’s Welding Techniques students have been working toward completion of their post-secondary certificates at the Bruce Technology Skills Training Centre since September, 2016.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Power Workers' Union (PWU) and 7 Acres Greenhouses, a group of students completed their Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) testing at the training centre in April, at no cost to the students.
Fanshawe instructor Toni Jones has worked hard to get the training centre certified as a CWB testing facility which will continue to allow Fanshawe students access to local CWB certification.
Fanshawe College offers a Welding Techniques and Mechanical Engineering Industrial Maintenance program at the facility in Tiverton. Programs commence in September, 2017. For more information, contact Heather Card at hmackenzie-card@fanshawec.ca.
