Kincardine Celebration Singers perform Tribute to Canada concert at Trillium Court
From their bright red shirts to their beautiful harmonies, the Kincardine Celebration Singers gave a marvellous performance of their Tribute to Canada concert, Monday afternoon, June 5, at Trillium Court Seniors' Community.

A huge crowd of more than 150 people gathered for the event which not only celebrated the 150th anniversary of Canada, but also the 25th anniversary of the choir, and director Willa Schoffer's 40th anniversary as a choir leader in Kincardine.

The concert opened, of course, with the singing of all three verses of the Canada national anthem, "O Canada," followed by many wonderful, toe-tapping, sing-a-long songs, such as "Something to Sing About," "The Maple Leaf Forever," "I'se the Bye," "We Rise Again," "We All Call It Canada," and "This Land is Your Land."

The band, featuring Dennis Newman, Kenneth Craig, Kathy Kilmer, Gayle Jamieson, Wendy Cox, Gilda McFarlane, and Gregg McClelland, offered several pieces as well, including "There's a Bluebird on Your Window Sill," "Put Your Hand in the Hand," and "Red River Valley."

And there were a few hijinks along the way, with Kenneth Craig in a brilliant yellow sou-wester, and Heather Jolley in a shawl and buckteeth, dancing to "I'se the Bye."

A magnificent show, it was also performed May 29 at RVilla in Ripley.
