Huron OPP, McDonald's join forces in positive ticketing initiative
(HURON COUNTY, ON) - Demonstrating positive behavior and participating in random acts of kindness is the "cool" thing to do this summer.

The Huron County OPP is proud to be partnering with McDonald's Restaurants in both Goderich and Exeter for a "Positive Ticketing" initiative.

Police will be on the look-out for youth who are demonstrating positive behavior in their community. A young child or teen may receive a "positive ticket" from an officer for a number of positive behaviours, such as helping others in need, being leaders, following the rules of the road, doing a good deed and/or participating in community activities. Officers may also use the positive tickets as an 'icebreaker' to interact with youth.

Should a youth get "caught," he/she may receive a "ticket" that can be redeemed for an ice cream cone at McDonald's Restaurants located in Goderich and Exeter.

"We are thrilled to be working together with the Huron County OPP on this initiative," says Rob Reid, owner of McDonald's Restaurants in Goderich and Exeter. "This is a great way to help bring a positive message to the kids of Huron County. Have fun this summer but please be safe,"

"This initiative provides officers an excellent opportunity to engage with youth in a very positive way," says inspector Jason Younan, Huron OPP detachment commander. "Building relationships and connecting with our youth is vitally important, and thanks to the generosity of McDonald's, we have another great way to make it happen."
