Charlene Martin of Kincardine receives Bluewater board's Award of Excellence

Charlene Martin of Kincardine is one of nine recipients of the Bluewater District School Board's Award of Excellence.

This is an annual tradition, held on the final regular meeting, when the board recognizes and celebrates outstanding contributions made by dedicated volunteers in its school communities.

The Awards of Excellence provide a snapshot of the countless individuals whose year-round efforts help to foster the academic, physical, social and emotional development of students in Bluewater. Recipients are nominated by others within their respective family of schools, including teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, students, support staff and/or members of the community. By virtue of the process, there is distinction in merely being nominated for an award.

At this year’s recognition presentations, held Tuesday, June 20, trustees took turns at the podium to personally honour each recipient for contributions, which ranged from participation on school committees, organizing breakfast clubs and supporting literacy/numeracy/music programming,to classroom volunteering, school photography, fund-raising and parent involvement initiatives.
