Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band holds first Saturday night parade of the season
Hundreds of people marched behind the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band at its first Saturday night parade of the summer season, Saturday evening in downtown Kincardine.

A unique Kincardine tradition during the summer months, every Saturday at 8 p.m., the band forms up beside Victoria Park and marches down Queen Street to Quinn Plaza, and then back to the park for a short concert.

Saturday night, a great crowd lined Queen Street to watch the parade, and then many followed in behind the band.

Leading the band, were drum major Lorne Smith, regimental drum major George Alderman in his uniform and bear skin, and guest drum major Nick Wood, all of Kincardine.

Of note, James McKenzie, who will be three in August, of Guelph, arrived at the parade in his tartan and put a donation in the wishing well. He and his family were visiting his grandparents, Alex and Brenda McKenzie of Walkerton. His great-grandparents were Ross and Dolores McKenzie of Kincardine.
