Kincardine Community Fund presents first two grants
The Kincardine Community Fund has presented its first two grants - to Community Living of Kincardine and District, and to Kincardine Pride Inc.

The community fund committee appreciates all who applied for the spring 2017 granting, adding that the community benefits hugely from the programs and activities supported by local volunteers through the donation of their time and talents.

Community Living Kincardine and District received a grant for the project, “Kids Included Together Training.” This two-hour workshop builds connections between families and inclusion advocates, and inspires community members to make real changes to support the participation of children of all abilities.

Ultimately, this project is intended to benefit children with developmental disabilities by promoting environments and practices that facilitate and encourage their full participation. However inclusive practices can benefit everyone and help to build understanding and connections between children with many possible differences.

Kincardine Pride Inc. received a grant for the Pride Parade held June 24 in downtown Kincardine, celebrating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer (LGBTQ) inclusiveness through a family-friendly event - the first in a small town in Bruce County.

The grants were awarded at a ceremony with the Community Foundation Grey Bruce, which included other community and donor advised funds, May 25.

The Kincardine Community Fund committee acknowledged the grant recipients at the committee meeting June 5.
