Wind, huge waves draw kite-boarders to Station Beach, Kincardine

Wind, huge waves draw kite-boarders to Station Beach, Kincardine
It was windy and cool Saturday morning, as the weather changed drastically from the hot, humid days of the previous week.

The ferocious wind churned up the water of Lake Huron, bringing huge waves crashing onto the shoreline at Station Beach, Kincardine, just south of Kincardine Harbour.

It was perfect weather for kite-boarders and surfers who flocked to the beach to enjoy their sport, but not so great for swimming. The stand-up paddleboard event, planned for Saturday morning, was cancelled due to the choppy water.

The sun came out and tried to warm things up, but by evening, it was cool again, as a great crowd gathered in Reunion Park, Kincardine, to rock to the music of the Andrew Parkhouse Band, and the great David Wilcox, at the 2018 Kincardine Reunion warm-up dance - more on that story later on the Kincardine Record.
