Bruce Power and partners raise $165,000 for local hospital foundations
Bruce Power, its suppliers, community partners and local businesses, didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits as they raised $165,000 at the annual golf tournament, to be split between the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The fund-raiser, which has now raised almost $2-million for local health care initiatives over the past 16 years, was held Aug. 11 at the Saugeen Golf Club. Proceeds from the tournament assist the foundations in purchasing life-saving equipment for the hospitals in Kincardine and Southampton.
“The Kincardine and Saugeen foundations allow our hospitals to stay at the forefront of rural health care, and Bruce Power and our partners are proud of the role we play in their successes,” said James Scongack, vice-president of corporate affairs and environment. “We are fortunate to live in communities where volunteers make such a lasting impact on our quality of life through their commitment to our hospitals.”
