National Dog Day celebrated at Trillium Court this Friday
Trillium Court Seniors' Community in Kincardine is celebrating National Dog Day this Friday (Aug. 25), from 3-4 p.m., in the Atrium.
The event is in support of the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides program. Its mission is to assist Canadians with a medical or physical disability by providing them dog guides at no cost. To do this, the foundation operates Dog Guides Canada, a preeminent national training school and charity that assists individuals with disabilities through specialized dog guide programs.
The dog guides are provided at no cost to eligible Canadians from coast-to-coast despite costing $25,000 each to train and place. The foundation relies on donations from individuals, service clubs, foundations and corporations and does not receive any government funding.
Everyone is welcome to come to Trillium Court, Friday at 3 p.m., bring your dogs and help support this amazing cause. There will be treats for the dogs and their humans!
