Drum major Nick Wood proposes to girlfriend at Massed Band Parade
Drum major Nick Wood of Kincardine asked his girlfriend, Brittany Conrad, to have a photo taken with him before the start of the Massed Band Parade, Saturday night in downtown Kincardine.
The next thing she knew, he was down on one knee, asking her to marry him.
As hundreds of pipers and drummers, and thousands of people, watched, she said yes, and they were engaged.
He placed an engagement ring on her hand, and after a hug and kiss, he was back at the front of the band, with fellow drum majors Lorne Smith and George Alderman, to help lead the Massed Band Parade.
Afterwards, Conrad said she thought something was up, because Wood seldom asks her to join him for a photo before the Saturday night parade.
The parade marched through downtown Kincardine to Quinn Plaza, and back to Victoria Park for a concert, to end the Massed Band event.
Stay tuned for further coverage of the Massed Band event, in the Kincardine Record.
