Two ladies post major scores at Ainsdale; glorious morning for senior men
The early morning rain didn't deter the Ainsdale ladies from their game at Ainsdale Golf Course. The plan was, either play-on or reschedule for the afternoon sunny skies.
Ethel McDonald blew down the flags on the front nine, carding a career-best 42 strokes for 33 Stableford points.
Heather Struthers was best player in her flight with a season-best 46 strokes.
The top two for Stableford points this week, by flight, were:
- A - Barb Grubb 18, Maureen Peet 16
- B - Anne Burton 20, Sandy Petter 20
- C - Heather Struthers 25, Shirley Thomas 22
- D - Ethel McDonald 33, Jeanette Bellan 21
- E - Barb McBride 25, Jan Kelly 23
The low putters for the day were Maureen Peet 15, Cindy Schmidt 16, Jean Rhude 15, Maureen Charette 17 and Brenda Grant 17.

SENIOR MEN'S LEAGUE
It was another glorious morning for the Senior Men's Scramble at Ainsdale, Wednesday, with the team of Murray Wardell, Garry Skelding, Steve Hammill and Harold Maurer heading the field with a fine score of minus-five on the front nine.
One stroke back, in second place, was the group of Dave Blenkinsop, Phil Thompkins, Bill Stewart and John Farrell.
Closest-to-the-pin marksmen were Ross Klopp on No. 3 and Robert LaForge on No. 8.
