Unsettled weather prompts stellar scores for Ainsdale ladies; cool morning for senior men
The early morning unsettled weather, Tuesday, proved to be a good thing for many of the Ainsdale ladies who brought in stellar scores.

Jen Lawrie put her new shoes to good use, carding a season-best on the back nine.

Gail MacIntosh put on a putting clinic, with five one-putt greens for a total of 14.

The top two for Stableford points this week, by flight, were:

  • A - Karen Neilipovitz 17,  Barb Grubb 17
  • B - Nancy Stewart 19,  Jen Lawrie 18
  • C - Janice Matchett 21,  Chris MacDonald 19
  • D - Gail MacIntosh 18,  Shelly Pollock 18

The low-putters for the day were Karen Neilipovitz 15,  Cindy Schmidt 15,  Chris MacDonald 16 and  Gail MacIntosh 14.

Twenty-seven ladies enjoyed a complimentary Palm Bay Tropix, donated by Labatts, sponsor of the day.

SENIOR MEN'S LEAGUE

With a nip of fall in the air, the Senior Men tackled the back nine in the weekly scramble at Ainsdale, Wednesday.

After three teams finished at minus-four, a putt-off was needed to determine a winner.

The group of Dave Hodgson, Clarke Pollock, Bob Bull and Harry Ferrier took top honors, while Dick Ford, Ron Lawless, Terry Perch and Harold Maurer were runners-up.

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Bruce Sine on No. 12 and Ron McDonald on No. 17.
