Kincardine physicians donate $10,000 to Huron Shores Hospice
The Huron Shores Hospice Hearts for Hospice fund-raising campaign received a tremendous boost this week when the Kincardine Physicians Group donated $10,000 to the hospice effort.
The cheque was presented at the Hawthorne Community Clinic, Wednesday afternoon.
”On behalf of the Kincardine Physicians Group, I extend our full support for Huron Shores Hospice," said Dr. Damian Gunaratne who will become medical director of the hospice service. "As we provide palliative care to our patients, both at home and in hospital, we can see the great need in our community for residential hospice services. Our patients deserve to have the option to die with dignity in a home-like setting and, with your help, we will make this a reality.
"We are confident that this hospice will fill an important gap in our community’s care needs and we all look forward to opening later this year at Tiverton Park Manor.”
