Kincardine Terry Fox Run raises more than $9,000 for cancer research
More than 70 people took part in the 37th annual Terry Fox Run held under a beautiful, sunny sky, Sunday morning, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
The final tally saw $9,198.50 raised for cancer research. Last year, about 100 participants raised $14,500 for the cause.
Registration began at 8 a.m., with the opening at 9 a.m. MC Mike Brough entertained the crowd, while Margaret Visser of the organizing committee welcomed everyone, as did Kincardine mayor Anne Eadie.
Following a warm-up, the participants were led around the Davidson Centre track by members of the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band, and then headed out on either the five-kilometre or 10-kilometre route.
