NWMO partners with Point Clark Boat Club to fix up harbour area
The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) has donated $10,000 to the Point Clark Boat Club Inc. to help fix up the Point Clark harbour, dock, launching area and piers.
The club's $150,000 restoration and beautification plan is expected to take several years of fund-raising, volunteer labour and in-kind donations.
Some of the immediate, priority projects highlight public safety at the harbour. They include fencing, a new walkway for visitors, lighting, a security camera and signage.
Boat club president Paul Grominsky is pleased with the progress so far, and is confident the group will reach its fund-raising goal.
“We really appreciate the support of the NWMO and others, and the Township of Huron-Kinloss,” he said. “The municipality’s co-operation and encouragement is very helpful.”
