Lobb announces support for seniors in Kincardine
Seniors in Kincardine will receive financial support for renovations to the Inverlyn Lake Estates clubhouse facilities, allowing them to maintain a high quality of life and actively participate in their community, thanks to funding through the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb made the announcement Wednesday, on behalf of the Honourable Alice Wong, Minister of State (Seniors).
“Our government recognizes the diversity of skills, knowledge and experience that seniors contribute to our society and the economy,” said Lobb. “By supporting the Inverlyn Lake Estates indoor committee, our government is supporting local projects that enable seniors to contribute to their communities through social participation and active living.”
The Inverlyn Lake Estates indoor committee will receive $20,243 through the New Horizons program for enhancements of the clubhouse facilities for seniors. The funding will go toward renovating the clubhouse and purchasing equipment to continue senior programming, such as fitness classes; and create new programming, such as movie nights and computer classes.
“We look forward to enhancing our clubhouse which will add to the quality of programs we can offer our residents, said Nancy Ackert of the Inverlyn Lake Estates indoor committee. "The addition of more activities will help to retain and attract seniors to this wonderful adult lifestyle community. We truly appreciate and thank Mr. Lobb and the New Horizons for Seniors Program.”
