Kincardine's first COPA for Kids Junior Aviation Day a great success
Kincardine's inaugural COPA for Kids Junior Aviation Day was a great success, drawing 90 youth to the Kincardine Municipal Airport, Saturday, Sept. 23.
Event organizer Chris McCullough said the pilots of COPA (Canadian Owners and Pilots Association) Flight 172 were thrilled with the turn-out as they had the opportunity to introduce aviation and the science of flight to such a large group of youth.
The young people then enjoyed a flight that took them around the Town of Kincardine, up the shoreline to Bruce Power,
inland to Tiverton, and then back to the airport.
"The weather was fabulous for flying and everyone involved seemed to have a great time at the event," said McCullough.
He thanked the local media for supporting and promoting the event, as well as the many volunteers who made it possible, including those taking registrations and doing the training, the ground crews, the pilots who donated the use of their aircrafts, the Municipality of Kincardine for the fences and picnic tables, and the airport management team for allowing COPA to use the facilities.
