Bulldogs notch a tie and a loss on the weekend
The Kincardine Nicol Insurance Bulldogs of the Provincial Junior Hockey League, tied Wingham, but lost to Mount Forest, on the weekend.

Friday night in Kincardine, the 'Dogs took on the Wingham Ironmen, and played to a 4-4 tie.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring early in the first on a goal by Jordan Caskenette from Robert White.

Wingham then fired in two to take a 2-1 lead. Jamie Huber scored from Josh Higgins and Carter Collinson, and Jacob Bishop (of Kincardine) had a short-handed, unassisted goal.

Keegan Angel scored on the powerplay, from Jake Fair and Hunter Robins-Gibbons, to tie the game at 2-2, at the end of the period.

Bayley Boyes scored from Logan Tolton minutes into the second, to put Wingham ahead, 3-2. Minutes later, Wingham made it a 4-2 game, on a powerplay goal by Collinson from Tolton and Parker Gibbings.

The 'Dogs fought back, as Brett Burrows worked the powerplay and scored from Mike Fiegehen and Robins-Gibbons, bringing Kincardine within one.

Early in the third, Caskenette scored the tying goal, unassisted. And despite an overtime period, that's how the game ended, 4-4.

Saturday night in Mount Forest, the 'Dogs lost a close game to the Patriots, 2-1.

After a scoreless first period, Mount Forest opened the scoring late in the second, with Kincardine tying it up minutes later on a goal by Brady Richards from Justin Marlowe and Keegan Angel.

The Patriots went ahead early in the third, and the Bulldogs could not tie it up, giving Mount Forest the 2-1 win.

Kincardine is on the road, playing Oct. 27 in Wingham, Oct. 28 in Mitchell, and Nov. 3 in Hanover.

The next home game is Sunday, Nov. 5, at 3:55 p.m., at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
