Kindred Spirits is a new social group for single seniors

Imagine a warm and compassionate human being whose job frequently brought her in contact with lonely senior citizens.
Imagine her frustration at only being able to offer a listening ear when she could see a need for some kind of action. What to do?

She contacted a friend, who gave her the number of another friend who asked her church officials if they would provide a space where this need for companionship could be explored.

The result: The inaugural meeting of a new social group for single seniors, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m., at Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine.

The meeting is an opportunity for area single seniors to meet, greet and complete a survey on their interests. A directory will be compiled, listing those interests, so if someone wants to go to a movie, or a walk, or a coffee and would like company he/she is able to check the directory for someone with the same interests and give contact that person.
