Kincardine hospital to experience one-hour power outage Nov. 13
As part of the infrastructure renewal project at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s Kincardine hospital site, the organization is preparing for a oneâ€hour power outage, Monday, Nov. 13, in order to connect the facility’s new generator system.
Beginning at 1 p.m., Nov. 13, the power to the building will be completely shutâ€down, with essential equipment running on generators. Patients are urged not to visit the hospital during this time, unless in the event of a critical emergency.
As Remembrance Day is being observed at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Nov. 13, laboratory and diagnostic imaging services will be closed to out-patients on this day, which will lessen the impact.
“We are nearing the end of this project, with just a few more hurdles to clear,” said Paul Rosebush, president and chief executive officer. “We greatly appreciate the patience of our community, and our staff, as we have worked to update the aging infrastructure in this building to ensure that we will be able to continue to deliver high-quality health care in Kincardine for years to come.”
The replacement of the facility’s boiler system, chiller and generators is expected to be completed by next month.
