Sparky visits Kindergarten class at KTTPS

Students at Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School were thrilled to see Sparky the Fire Dog walking through their school, Friday afternoon.

The mild-mannered, fun-loving mascot of the Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services, was joined by fire prevention officer Shane Watson as they toured the halls, waving to the children and giving high-fives.

The destination was Denice Kirk's Kindergarten class where Watson congratulated the students on completing their Home Escape Plans. Each students took a smaller version of Sparky home with him/her in a backpack, and worked with his/her family on the Home Escape Plan, bringing the results back to class.

In recognition of their hard work and dedication, Sparky came for a visit, and Watson handed out lunch boxes embossed with a fire safety message, to the students.

After posing with the class, it was back to the fire hall for Sparky and Watson.
