Almost 140 attend annual Kincardine Legion Veterans Christmas Banquet
About 140 people, including 35 veterans, plus spouses and caregivers, Legion members and friends, and entertainers, gathered Sunday afternoon for the annual Kincardine Legion Veterans Christmas Banquet.

Entertaining the crowd, was the Kincardine Community Concert Band, under the direction of Mary Kloosterboer.

The Rockin' Rebels then took to the stage. This group features Elle Vokey, Calleigha McGuigan, Madelyn Thomson, and Samantha Kim, all age nine, students at St. Anthony's School in Kincardine. They performed several Christmas carols, plus an original song written by Samantha.

Peggy Griffin introduced the group which includes her granddaughter, Calleigha, noting that her granddaughter said last year that said she wanted to do something for the veterans banquet this year. So, the girls put together some songs and dance moves, and performed, much to the appreciation of the audience.

Following the entertainment, the crowd enjoyed dinner, and then had a visit from Santa Claus.

Serving the meal, were the executive of the Legion branch, along with the Air Cadets and officers. The banquet is a thank you to the area veterans, their spouses and widows.
