Kincardine Theatre Guild sings "Natural Gas is Coming to Town" at council meeting

What began as a regular Kincardine council meeting Wednesday night (Dec. 13) turned into a few moments of boisterous song, as the Kincardine Theatre Guild arrived in the council chamber and erupted into "Natural Gas Is Coming To Town."

The annual Christmas sing-o-gram, was courtesy of councillor Laura Haight as she wished council a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

This year's sing-o-gram focused on the case for natural gas in the Municipality of Kincardine, sung to the tune, "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town":

The baseboard heaters are out
The ductwork's installed
'Cause now there's no doubt
Our contractor's been called
Natural gas is coming to town.

A gas fireplace is booked
A water heater too
Nothing overlooked
A new barbecue too
Natural gas is coming to town.

We know council's been busy
There's a lot to do each year
But Laura asked us kindly
To bring you Christmas cheer.

Now we're ready to leave
We've finished our song
And would you believe
We knew it all along
Natural gas is coming to town ...

Mayor Anne Eadie thanked the theatre guild for that lovely song and said the three municipalities, Kincardine, Huron-Kinloss and Arran-Elderslie, are just waiting on the Ontario Energy Board's decision to proceed. Then natural gas will be coming to town.

She also wished Haight a happy birthday.
